Joar Torbiörnsson creates sculptures where the surface carries stories. He works closely with materials – wood, metal, various finishes – with great attention to detail. Current work revolve around grief as well as the euphoria of love – times of upheaval and the cyclical nature of history. Pieces are woven together through details, symbols as well as integrated performances to form open ended speculative fictions.
