Maja Johanne Lauesen

(b. 1993) Holds a bachelor's degree in art from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design, Norway, and Paris-Cergy, France. Lauesen works with relief, sculpture, painting, drawing, and text.

In alternative landscape images, Lauesen zooms in and out on the world, both on micro and macro levels, with references to planetary spots, microscopic cells, and the depths of the ocean. The visible and the hidden, the near and the distant, the artificial and the organic.

In Skagen, Maja Johanne held a sculpture workshop in the garden at Saxild. Here, participants could gain a unique insight into the artist's practice and try their hand at materials such as plaster, putty, and other leftover materials.
