Louise Gaarmann
Louise Gaarmann (b. 1975) has her studio and home surrounded by nature, sky, and sea. With a refreshingly diverse artistic expression, she creates everything from cups to small sculptures and ceramic rainbows. Spontaneous ideas, the cycles of nature, and the ups and downs of life all play a role in her direct and personal way of communicating with the audience.
In Skagen, Louise became very interested in life at the harbor. During her first weeks, she knocked on the door of a fishing net manufacturer, who helped her with materials in the form of surplus nets and leftover yarn. Materials that Louise has used extensively in the works she has produced in Skagen. She has also received help from a retired vat binder and has begun collaborations with both Skagen Glassworks and the local locksmith.
