Kirsi Marie Liimatainen (b. 1968) is a Finnish film and theatre director based in Finland and Germany. She works in both documentary and fiction, exploring personal and political narratives where individual experiences reflect wider social structures. In her artistic practice, she examines identity, sexuality and the living conditions of minorities with an intimate, character‑driven focus. During her residency at the museum, she will further develop this exploratory, long‑term work in dialogue with the site’s history and its audiences.
