Tårnesvik

Kristin Tårnesvik is a Norwegian-Sami artist from Gáivuotna/Kåfjord, currently based in Oslo. She graduated from the Department of Photography at Bergen Academy of Fine Arts in 2004 and works across a wide range of media and formats, from drawing and text to printmaking, sculpture, photography, video and installation. Her practice is often grounded in themes such as cultural heritage and cultural memory, as well as reflections on time, manual labour and the transmission of knowledge. Tårnesvik has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Norway and internationally, has completed several public art commissions, and her works are represented in collections including KORO, Norges Bank, the National Museum, Equinor and the Sámi Parliament.
